summer days

all this extra time that i have and i haven't touched this computer......HA! that's the biggest joke ever!  but by the looks of this poor blog one would think that.

i have kept busy. i fill up my days. fun to fill them at my own pace.

i'm still doing a bit of cleaning....ripped through my home office the other day.

lots of weeding and working in the yard and on the flowers.

spending time with that puppy, i'm developing a better Frisbee arm, who knew?

reading and lots of movies and DVDs. some of the better ones: Friends With Money, Bee Season, Shop Girl, Cars, and The Break Up was okay, all the shots of Chicago were great but the movie was so-so.

and knitting, of course there's been knitting although i've been in a bit of a slump. not sure what to do. i finished my second Peony with the Prism yarn from SP7, just have the buttons to sew on.  hubby says it looks just like it was bought at Free People. quite a compliment! and it does a bit! i'm working on a larger, cabled sweater bag. kind of designing it myself as i go along. it will be nice for the fall. and i just cast on tonight for a vest from the Rowan Classic Weekend Book #8. i've had the book for some time and i had some Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim Aran hanging around so i'm trying that. (i saw that Yarnstorm had made one and got the inspiration from her). thought it would look cute with a white t-shirt. i'm not a big fan of cotton yarn but so far this stuff's not bad to knit with.

oh, the days of summer.......

playing has been good

nothing says summer like a 4th of july holiday weekend.  even tho i did not have any corn on the cob.  (i think i will look for some of that for this weekend).

this weekend had all the great ingredients for summer. another trip to michigan, family, the farmers market, good food, sun, blueberries, great weather, long walks, park visits, afternoon naps, fresh strawberries, a good book, sleeping in, a trip to the beach, raspberries, a summer birthday in there (we have many, family, summer birthdays). even a snotty nose to wipe here and there, (cuz the little grandson had his first cold), but that didn't stop his smiles or spoiled his fun.  i enjoyed it all.

got in some knitting time too.  finished my felted bag.  turn out great.  i will enjoying using it.

and just last night i finished reading the Mermaid Chair.  good ending.  i would recommend it.

this week i'm working on my much neglected yard, flower beds, and housework.  back to business around here the next few days for me.  too much playing.  but playing has been good!!!
