it's a good thing

you don't have to be martha stewart to come up with a good idea.

last night when my husband and i were going through some of our junk mail from the big pile.  yeah we are still going through what is left from when we were on  vacation.  anyways.....we came across a flyer for a newer Chinese place in town that we have yet to try.  hubby said "we should try this".  "sure", i said  "I'll save that flyer somewhere".  knowing full-well that it would first be set on the counter, then in some drawer, then probably "filed" in the trash can when i was tired of seeing it hanging around.

it's not because i don't want to eat at the new Chinese place, i do.  but by the time we order out next time i can't find the flyer so we just end up ordering pizza.

so.....i think this idea was half inspired from just being home from vacation.....this time i not only said to him "sure, let's eat there", but it was followed by this light-blub-moment-idea.  you know those little binders that they have at the hotels and resorts that you stay at with all the important info you may need during your stay and they are filled with local resturant info and menus, even menus for places that aren't always take-out (because those places will do take out)?  well..... why not make one of those at home?  when they come in the mail, next time you are out to dinner grab one, call ask them to mail you one.  if nothing else it may get you out of the pizza rut!!!

and who knows you could feel like you are on vacation as you go to the cabinet on a friday night to see what carry out you want to order (okay that's a stretch), but it does get the flyers off the kitchen table!!!!
